The National Youth Policy Review project was officially launched on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports.
Consultant, Ms. Dwynette Eversley, over a nine-month period, will facilitate the research and consultations necessary to develop a new National Youth Policy.
Minister with responsibility for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Shawn Edward, said the government is committed to identifying and implementing strategic policy that will serve the needs of youth.
Ms. Eversley said the request by the Government of Saint Lucia for a youth-targeted project shows its commitment to addressing youth-related matters and augers well for development.
The President of the National Youth Council, Ms. Louise Victor called the review timely, as it will seek to address recent developments at the international level. Ms. Victor has committed the NYC’s participation in mobilizing Saint Lucian youth to be a part of the process.
