Advance polling allows poll workers and attendants, police, and fire service personnel the opportunity to vote.
The Electoral Department has announced the date for its advance poll.
Civic and Voter Education Coordinator at the Electoral Department, Alymphia Lionel, said the advance poll will take place on June 3.
"We’re going to have advance polling, and the date for the advance poll will be June 3. Those persons who will be voting at the advance poll would be the poll workers, for example the returning officers, the election clerks, the assistant election clerks, the presiding officers, the police, fire service and persons from the correctional facility."
In April, amendments were made to the Election Act. Lionel said although the stamp was proposed, it will not be used during this general election. However, the nomination fee will double from $250 to $500, and other aspects of the amendment will be introduced.
"There will be mobile units at the homes for the elderly. These mobile units will run from 6 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., as a normal polling station would, and they will be placed there to allow those persons to exercise their franchise."
The Electoral Department hopes to publish the voters list on May 30. General elections will be held on June 6.
