Temporary closure of the Canaries Wellness Centre to facilitate smart rehabilitation works

EFFECTIVE MONDAY JUNE 1, ALL PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES NORMALLY OFFERED WILL BE REDIRECTED TO THE ANSE LA RAYE WELLNESS CENTRE FOR THE 2 WEEKS PERIOD

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition informs the public of the temporary closure of the Canaries Wellness Centre from Monday June 1, 2026 to Friday June 12, 2026 to facilitate  rehabilitation works under the OECS Regional Health Project, funded by the World Bank. Normal operations will resume at the Canaries Wellness Centre on Monday June 15, 2026. 

Effective Monday June 1, 2026, all Primary Health Care Services normally offered at the Canaries Wellness Centre will be redirected to the Anse La Raye Wellness Centre for the two-weeks period. Home visits and outreach services in the community of Canaries will continue as usual to support patients requiring care. The Anse La Raye Wellness Centre opening hours are Monday to Friday (8am to 4:30pm).  

The Ministry of Health has arranged free transportation for residents of Canaries and surrounding communities. The bus will be made available on Mondays and Fridays at 7:30am and 10:30am ONLY and on Tuesdays at 7:30am ONLY. The bus will be available for pickup of clients at the Canaries Bus Stop near the Canaries Infant School.

The schedule for clinics at the Anse La Raye Wellness Centre is as follows: Mondays (Medical Clinic & Diabetes and Hypertension Clinic);  

Tuesdays (Child Health Clinic) and Fridays (Medical Clinic).

 

Residents are also encouraged to access healthcare services at the nearest health facility.
