The National Mental Wellness Centre will host a full day of activities in observance of suicide prevention.
The Saint Lucia National Mental Wellness Centre, under the guidance and leadership of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, will observe World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day on Saturday, Sep. 10, under the theme "Connect, Communicate, Care."
In commemoration, the Mental Wellness Centre will host a full day of activities.
Activities begin with a church service at the Maranatha Seventh Day Adventist church, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m, and will be followed by an anti-suicide march around the Castries city circuit, from 3 - 4 p.m. The march will commence at Serenity Park, then proceed onto John Compton Highway, Peynier Street, Micoud Street, and culminates at the Derek Walcott Square.
A special invitation is extended to uniformed groups. Participants are asked to wear purple or turquoise in a show of solidarity.
The day of activities will culminate with a mini concert at the Derek Walcott Square from 4 - 6 p.m.
